Privacy Policy for iDrive Truck
This Privacy Policy explains how iDrive Truck handles your information.
1. Information we collect
- Account information (for example Apple/Google sign-in identifiers and email, if provided).
- App content you create (such as shift data, notes, saved places, reports, and preferences).
- Diagnostics and usage events needed to improve reliability and app quality.
- Location data, camera access, notifications, and other permissions only when you grant access.
2. How we use information
- To provide core app features (planning, maps, reports, and account functions).
- To sync and secure your data across devices.
- To process subscriptions and restore purchases.
- To improve app performance, prevent abuse, and provide support.
3. Border crossing reminders
If you enable the optional border tracking feature, iDrive Truck may use background location access to detect when you cross into a new country and send a local reminder to enter the country symbol in the tachograph.
- This feature is optional and can be turned off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
- When this feature is enabled, the app transmits limited location observations to our server — including coordinates, accuracy and crossing event type — to confirm border crossings and deliver the reminder.
- These observations are retained for up to 180 days for service reliability and abuse prevention, then deleted.
- The app does not sell, share or use this data for advertising.
- If the feature is disabled, no location observations are sent.
- Apple location and geocoding services may process location data on-device or through Apple services to determine the current country.
3a. Friends location sharing
If you enable the optional Friends feature, you can share your location with people you personally invite — and see theirs — strictly by mutual consent. Sharing starts only after one person sends a one-time invitation link and the other person explicitly accepts it in the app.
- What is shared and stored. Only your latest reported position (coordinates, accuracy, a precise/approximate flag and timestamps). We do not store a movement history or track, and we do not collect battery level or "last seen" status.
- How long it is visible. Your latest position stays visible to your approved friends while sharing is on. If updates stop, the last transmitted position is automatically deleted after 30 days without updates. Pausing sharing, hiding from an individual friend, removing a friend or blocking a user takes effect immediately and is always free.
- Profile. Your display name and profile photo are visible to your friends and shown in the app to a person who opens your invitation link.
- Background use. If you grant the "Always" location permission, the app may receive and transmit your location in the background while it is closed; frequency and precision are not guaranteed.
- Routes to and from a friend. If you ask the app to build a route to a friend's last position, or use "Help with a route" to plan a route for a friend, that friend's coordinates are sent to Apple or Google (Directions) as part of the route request — in the latter case as the starting point of the route, together with the destination address you enter.
- Sending a route to a friend. If you choose to send a planned route to a friend, the stops and destination you selected (coordinates and short names — never your friend's position or yours) are stored on our servers until the friend accepts or declines, and at most for 7 days, after which they are deleted. Once answered, the stored stops are removed immediately; the received copy then lives only on your friend's device. Removing the friendship or blocking deletes any pending routes between you at once.
- Reports and moderation. If you report a user or content, the report (with a limited evidence snapshot, never coordinates) is stored on our servers: it is anonymised after 12 months and deleted after 24 months. Internal moderation records are kept for 24 months.
- Service records. Device registrations used to deliver notifications are removed after 60 days of inactivity. Notification delivery records are kept up to 30 days (delivered) or 90 days (undeliverable). Technical fingerprints of used invitation links — which contain no personal data — are kept for the lifetime of your account to prevent expired links from being reused.
- "Delete Friends data". This control in the app deletes your friendships, invitations, shared position, profile and counters without deleting your account. Blocks you created, reports, moderation records and your acceptance of the Community Rules are retained so that safety decisions cannot be bypassed. Deleting your account removes all Friends data, subject to the report and moderation retention periods above.
- Physical deletion by our storage systems may lag slightly behind the moment access is closed by our security rules; access itself is revoked immediately.
4. Third-party services
iDrive Truck may use trusted third-party providers (such as Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple services, and map providers) to deliver app functionality. These providers process data according to their own privacy terms.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with service providers required to operate the app or when required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain data only as long as needed for app functionality, legal obligations, and account support. You can request deletion of your account-related data.
7. Your choices
- You can manage permissions in iOS Settings (location, camera, notifications, etc.).
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
8. Children
iDrive Truck is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
